Another year of traveling for work and pleasure has gone by. Time seems to be going by faster and faster the more places I get to visit and experience. Some friends and I have started somewhat of a new tradition to get out into the mountains or desert to bring in the New Year. It is a nice way to slow things down while most of the world is out celebrating in a big party.
This year we headed out to the central coast of California again for some mountain and ocean air. We arrived at camp just after sunset. The night was chilly and clear. After some dinner and conversation, we celebrated the New Year and tucked into bed. The next morning I set out onto some mountain roads I’ve been curious about. I brought my motorcycle, which is the most fun way to get around those parts. Definitely stumbled into some areas that will need some revisiting.
Later that evening was spent along the river with a camp fire keeping us warm. These simple little moments are much appreciated in this fast paced life. Listening to a river while dozing off to sleep puts you in the right mid set. Heading back home is tough, but we broke up the drive with many stops along the way. A much needed trip, very happy to spend time off the grid for some r & r. Now onward and upward to 2017!
